What is the 8/8 Lion’s Gate?
The Lion’s Gate is the name given to a powerful alignment that happens every year on August 8th. In this window, the Sun moves through Leo, the sign of the lion, connected to courage and the heart - while the star Sirius, often called the “Spiritual Sun,” rises in the sky. As Sirius, Orion’s Belt, and Earth line up, they create an energetic portal that has been celebrated for thousands of years.
In ancient Egypt, this alignment marked the flooding of the Nile; a time of fertility, provision, and life returning to the land. Across cultures, it’s been honored as a moment when light, abundance, and spiritual wisdom pour directly onto the Earth. On 8/8, we step into that same flow - a stream of support and receiving that’s always been here for us.
